Restoring History of Greenwood Fire Company

A local group of volunteers are working to restore a 1940's Mack Pumper. The truck, that was acquired years ago, had been deteriorating, said Kenneth Smith, Chief of the Greenwood Volunteer Fire Company in Warwick, RI. Smith, along with a group of friends and administrators of the Greenwood Fire Museum, began work on the pumper three years ago in hopes of getting it back in working condition. With hundreds of hours of work already put in, he says there is close to another year of work still remaining. Once the restoration is complete, the truck will be displayed in the firehouse turned museum along with another antique pumper, and used in parades around Rhode Island.
